Samosas are popular fast food snack that is available in almost every shop/restaurant. Savory comfort food at its best, golden brown and crispy on the outside and spicy on the inside that goes very well over a hot cup of Chai especially on a cold rainy day. Samosa is eaten as a starter or as a snack. I have shared with you two ways of making samosas, one from scratch and other from readymade tortilla.
I was at a Indian grocery store and found this readymade samosa dough sheets from deep company. They are long strips of dough that are frozen; when you are ready to use all you have to do is thaw it and fill it with spicy potato stuffing, spicy paneer stuffing or dry toor daal stuffing. You can customize your samosas the way you want and make it quickly within 30 minutes for a party. Here are the ingredients and method to make this dish. I hope you try and enjoy making mini samosas for your party 🙂
25 Samosa sheets
Spicy potato stuffing (recipe posted here)
1 tbsp all purpose flour/2 tsp water (mix and make thick paste)
Prep your spicy potato filling, recipe is posted here. Cool the stuffing after making it.
Thaw your samosa sheets and separate them. Take little potato filling and start filling in the strip as shown below.
Use the all purpose flour paste and apply it at the end to close the samosa properly so it doesn’t open up when you deep fry it. Directions shown above last row of the pictures.
Heat oil in a pan (medium-high heat). Deep fry these samosas and cook them till they get the nice even golden color. Enjoy them nice and hot! They are perfect with coriander mint chutney! They are very easy and quick and perfect for party starters.
P.S. You can make these ahead of time and freeze them for future gatherings.
