About

Hi! I am Dhwani, author of this blog and a nurse by profession. At the end of a long work day, when I need to de-stress from the craziness of everyday life, I spend my time cooking, knitting, making jewelry, and painting. Dash Of Creativity is a platform for me to share little bit of everything in my life.
Cooking, my passion since I was 11, has brought me here to share with you my new flavors which I created in my kitchen. I am neither a professional chef  and nor have I received formal training, every time I visit a restaurant with my better half I feel the urge to get back home and try the same ordered dish in my way. Luckily most of the time, every experiment of mine had turned awesomely delicious. As a result, I end up making various forms of one recipe as per taste. I really enjoy cooking for family members & friends.  My husband,  my good friend and my perfect soul mate, has encouraged me to be a better cook and make variety of  foods.
From childhood, I was extremely zealous about cooking. Whenever my mom entered the kitchen I followed in to help her in anyway possible. My role model would have to be my dad, since he is the one who introduced me to the awesome world of cooking.  My parents always encouraged home cooking with fresh ingredients & seasonal produce. To this day I wonder, how they can make such an excellent variety of foods without the use of cookbooks or YouTube videos.
My other passion is Knitting. I discovered my love for knitting in May 2011, right after getting my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Temple University, Philadelphia. When I first moved to Kansas City from Philadelphia, I felt like an alien, not having job or any friends. Trying to expand my horizons in this new city, I felt the urge to go out and be a part of something. One day I stopped by at one of the knitting stores and joined their knitting club. Though I possessed very rudimentary knitting skills, the club members were extremely friendly. Over a few months time, I learned how to read patterns, make sweaters, socks, and much more. The transition from Philadelphia to Kansas City was definitely a daunting one; however the people of KC accepted me as one of their own and made this transition a very rewarding one.
Since April 2014, I have been in Columbus, Ohio and have been busy settling into new home and new job. Even though with hectic life, I been experimenting new recipes and trying new things.  I am excited to share my journey of creativity with you. I hope you enjoy my blog. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
